Domestic Abuse Survivor Choses Life for Herself and Her Baby When Offered Financial Security in Her Pregnancy by ‘Let Them Live’ Organization
A woman who escaped an abusive relationship was able to chose life for her unborn baby when Let Them Live was able to step in and provide assistance in the birth of the child as well as the financial burden she feared when considering abortion as a possibility.
Thanks to a group called Let Them Live, a woman who escaped an abusive relationship was able to chose life for her and her unborn baby. Let Them Live is a 501c3 charity that identifies pregnant women in crisis circumstances for whom to provide support of all kinds. With the intervention of this charity and the assistance in the birth of the child as well as the financial burden she feared when considering abortion, the child will be born.
Only a few days ago, the mother was feeling as if raising a child on her own would be too much to handle financially. She was feeling trapped into a choice to terminate the life of her child.
“I’m not going to keep this pregnancy. It’s either abortion or killing myself,” said the anonymous mom. “If I truly told you how overwhelmed I am financially it would be hard to believe. But that’s why termination makes sense.”
In research published by the Guttmacher Institute, 73% of women seek abortion due to financial reasons. Let Them Live understands offering financial aid to these women is the most effective way to prevent the death of children.
It was at this point hat Let Them Live stepped in and started a fundraiser specifically for her, as they do for all the girls they offer assistance to. With one day left until the fundraiser has reached the one-week mark, her fundraising page has received 92% funding.
Since the Let Them Live organization received 501(c)3 status in February, 2019, 28 abortions have been canceled. Five of the children have been born, and there are a couple that are due to be born in April.
Let Them Live pays for medical expenses as well as rent and utilities, which are paid directly to the doctors and landlords. Alongside local crisis pregnancy centers and organizations, Let them Live sets up the registries for the babies that are rescued from abortion.
In the event that a mother changes her mind and leaves the program, the money raised for her is given to a mom that will cancel her abortion.
While there aren’t many moms who want to give their children up once they are talked out of their abortions, Let Them Live also offers assistance to those who do choose to put their kids up for adoption.
